Abstract

This technical note is about the ultimate criteria in compression for combined torque and flexural moment. Eurocode 2 and the Spanish Concrete Code (EHE) specify a criteria in the continuum domain, this is valid when the value of the flexural moment is important. In this paper the limits of this criteria are discussed along with the boundary where continuum criteria or ultimate state criteria must be used.
