Abstract

This study provides the design, calculation, casting and testing of a one-way spanning system made of self-compacting UHPFRC. It is composed of precast thin double T girders and thin flat slabs. Material was cast both at laboratory and at precast company, analysing the mechanical properties evolution. Full scale beams were made at laboratory without prestressed steel, deducing the stress-strain tensile law of the material by flexural tests. Prestressed beams were elaborated in a precast company and tested to check the real behaviour of the element. Besides 20 mm thickness slabs were tested to evaluate the capacity of the secondary elements which complete the system. The advantages of the system proposed are explained, comparing it with the conventional solutions and detailing the span range where it can be used for building and civil engineering.
