Abstract

The present investigation studies the performance of joints in composite structural elements with reinforcement across the interface, and analyses the influence of shear transfer parameters on the behaviour of flexural beams upon monotonic loading. The deflection of a composite beam is computed by a numerical model; the output of program fits properly the experiments. The roughness, reinforcement ratio and compressive strenght of concrete affect the shear transfer at the interface and the deflection and stiffness of the beams. Two rectangular section beams were tested to verify the model. Finally, conclusions are summarized, focussed on service loads.
