Abstract

In past decades, concrete structure buildings have experienced important variations related to considered typologies and materials. In addition, important advances have been achieved in concrete and steel qualities. Also, design methods have evolved. As a consequence, current concrete structures have lost stiffness and building structures are now especially sensitive to deflection problems. These reasons have induced us to carry out a study that allows objectively establishing how beams stiffness of frame structures has been reduced due to material, typologies and construction methods.
