Some reflections about the placement of containment systems in bridges rehabilitations works

Abstract

The placement of new systems of containment on existing bridges boards requires a detailed analysis and a sufficient thinking to design and execute an adequate solution that, based on our experience in pathologys studies, is not achieved in many cases. In the present article we have intended to demonstrate the complexity, in our opinion, of the rehabilitation of the containment system of a bridge, replacing it by a valid solution taking into account the current design concepts and criteria, that can lead in many cases to develop an important intervention and also to justify the need to strengthen or expand the board in many cases and even to question certain solutions observed.
