Abstract

The behaviour of concrete elements subjected to shear stress is and has been in recent time subject of constant discussion on structural engineer area. There is a great distance between the reality of the phenomenon and the standards interpretation, which tend to propose semi-empiric expressions with adjustments based on statistical analysis. Within this, size effect rises as one of the aspects needed of more empiric information.
In order to improve the knowledge in this area, hereby document describes the experimental campaign with high depth beams, detailing the procedures carried out and the results achieved to date.
