Abstract

The Polarization Resistance method allows us to establish the Corrosion Intensity suffered by steel embeded in concrete specimens. It is a non-destructive method, thus permite us to study the behaviour of the steels through time. The method was applied to pre-stressing beams made industrially, in which we have studied the effect of two types of accelerators (steam curing and calcium chloride) and two types of conglomerators (OPC and OPC blended with fly ashes), through several years.
