Abstract

One of the aspects that conditions the use of the discrete crack technique in the finite element analysis of concrete structure is the continuous alteration of the mesh during the process of crack propagation. This work presents a strategy for the modification of triangular meshes that also takes into account the presence of bond, aggregate interlock and dowel action. The proposed process of modification is fully automatic.
