Tensioning order of post-tensioned concrete water tanks of small capacity
Abstract
Systematic studies about tensioning order of tendons in circular post-tensioned concrete tanks are rather scarce and specially when dealing with small tanks. However a study of the adequate order of post-tensioning may provide criteria to minimize the amount of mild-steel, to find the right stress state at each tensioning stage and, in general, to reduce the total construction cost of the structure. In this paper a proposal of postensioning order ofr small capacity water tanks (until 8000 cubic meters) is made, taking into account resistant and constructive criteria.
