Abstract

This paper describes the theoretical study carried out to develop an alternative control method for the concrete strength in the purifying station of Besós at Barcelona using the ultrasonic technique. This work considers especially the distribution of the wave velocity and the path of the ultrasonic impulse between two transducers taking into account several variables. The development of new expressions to verify the influence of the steel reinforcement based on the concrete cover r and the distance L between transducers is accomplished.
