Two large composite prestressed bridges in Tortosa and Valencia

Abstract

They are briefly exposed the design and construction essential characteristics of two big composite bridges, in prestressed concrete and structural steel, using cross unicellular trapezoidal box sections, for the lintel, and very big intermedial piers - with sculptural character - in prestressed concrete, with full continuity with the lintel to obtain very slender framed systems of expressive shape. They are studied the constructionprocesses and their control by the evolutive analysis automatic program DIFEV, very able for the treatment of big and complex structural systems.
