Overpasses in M-40 motorway between Extremadura motorway and La Coruña motorway

Abstract

The main features of different structures which have been constructed in the M-40 motorway, in Madrid, between the N-V and N-VI motorways are described. The different typologies which have been chosen are conditioned by the ways they have to cross: Incrementally pushed caissons were used under railway, prestressed concrete decks over the new motorways and composite steel-concrete decks were used over the motorway with traffic. - Overcrossings over the old motorways. - Overcrossings over the new motorways. - Simple-pier overcrossings. - Overcrossings between the M-40 and the ""Eje Pinar"".
