Abstract

The Paris and Madrid bridges are placed over the river Gran Valira in Andorra, the first one in the center of Andorra la Vella, and the second one belongs to the new access from the south to the city. Both structures have been designed with series of common features: the decks of the bridges have an irregular shape, in both cases maximum flood levels forced to fix a solution of upper structure to get minimum depth; and finally, both structures should have a strict area in plant, according to the guidelines set by the ?Ministeri d?Ordenament Territorial I Urbanisme?, consist of covering the river only in those areas defined by the road decks. Under the considerations, in both cases the final solution presented is a composite deck, cable-stayed by bars, which are anchored in two spheres of 2,2 m in diameter in the Paris bridge, and in one sphere of 4,0 m in diameter in the Madrid bridge.
