Numerical and experimental study on CFRP strengthening of concrete beam-column connections
Abstract
This paper describes a numerical and experimental analysis of the reparation of reinforced concrete structural elements with advanced composite materials. The tests were conduced on full-scale specimens simulating beam-to-column connections of reinforced concrete structures. The specimens were damaged and repaired by filling cracks with epoxy and gluing carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) sheets. The repaired specimens were tested to failure. A finite element method analysis of both the RC specimen connection, and the RC specimen connection repaired with CFRP was performed.
