Abstract
The viaduct over Júcar river is a composite deck bridge 216 m long and 29 m wide with a main span of 90 m formed by a bowstring which is described in detail in other paper. Due to different difficulties, construction using cranes was discarded, being the launching using SPMTs the construction process elected. Although not conventional, it came up to have many advantages that made it competitive against conventional launching systems (significant additional structural steel savings, provisional diagonals reduction, maximum free cantilever reduction during construction.
