Abstract

In this article, the conceptual design and some specific details of the structural design project the New West Terminal of Algiers Airport are presented.
It is a large-scale project, designed and built in a very short time, with the complexity of fitting a singular design in an area of high seismicity.
The work carried out by our team consisted both in the structural design project of the new terminal building, and other buildings and auxiliary infrastructures: viaducts and pedestrian access walkways, connection walkway between both terminals (new and existing), boarding bridges, thermo-refrigeration plants and power plant.
It was a work in which different structural materials had been used:
reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel structures, and textile materials.
The article focuses specifically on the project of the structure of the new terminal.
