Comparative remarks on the wind load provisions in EN1991-1-4 for special structures
Abstract
The internationalization of the Spanish construction industry has triggered increased interest on the various building codes including those with regard to wind loading. Wind engineering is a relatively young discipline. Consequently, international codes, commentaries and guides are constantly evolving. This together with specific significant differences between codes sometimes lead the structural engineer to misinterpretation and error. This article presents limited relevant areas in which other international codes differ from the Eurocode 2005. The expected content and capabilities of the national annexes are also explored.
