Structure of the Bir Mourad Raïs intermodal station (Algiers)

Abstract

In this article the most significant features of the Bir Mourad Raïs Intermodal Station, in Algiers, are described, as well as the most important aspects of the structural design and the characteristics of the analysis, in particular those corresponding to the consideration of the seismic action. Eventually the dimensioning of concrete elements, especially box and sheet walls, is explained, establishing the ductility requirements and the calculations performed to verify its fulfillment.
