Studies, special inspection work and design for rehabilitating Amposta bridge

Abstract

This article describes the study and analysis of one of the most special works of José Eugenio Ribera, the Amposta suspension bridge. In combining its original design, its eventful history and special inspection work enabling the status of its elements to be known, using new calculation methods and knowledge of materials, a rehabilitation design is proposed, in keeping with current technology, which will substantially respect Ribera?s brilliant structural approach.
